To Provoke Change…
Even before we meet in Wisconsin, ‘Changing family cultures’ is kicking off the dialogue with a provocation paper written by Julian Sefton-Green (to download a PDF copy of the paper, please click the link below). Because YCC brings together scholars from different disciplines and areas of interest, this paper maps out some of the key themes and research traditions related to the seminar topic: the politics of learning with digital media. The brief paper concludes with (potentially) provocative questions which form the structure of the seminar. Keynote speakers will incorporate responses to questions in their talks, and discussions following keynotes will focus on one or two of the provocation questions. Participants are invited to respond to the provocation paper online before meeting in Wisconsin. This sets the stage for our vision for the seminar to be interactive: heavily discussion-based with a focus on networking and moving dialogue in the field forward through future collaborative research.
